Consumers in Europe expect that the products they buy
and use are safe, and according to the current European
legislation they are entitled to do so. Nevertheless,
consumer products are involved in the majority of home
and leisure accidents, and the media often report about
product recalls of defective products. This article
deals with the safety of non-food consumer products
in the European Union.
